I am not a good blogger. I don't have the patience to sit down and type sometimes...so I am a little behind. Here is what's been going on:
1)My boyfriend of 6 years, Shane, and I finally got engaged in May! We are getting married Dec 11th, 2010 in Las Vegas. The ceremony is at Graceland Chapel and the post wedding dinner is at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill in the MGM Hotel. We are inviting close family and friends only so I am really excited to share a fun weekend with people we love the most. A big traditional wedding wouldn't really be our style, so Vegas is perfect! It's definitely a little challenging, though, planning everything from Dallas and hoping everything in Vegas will turn as it is supposed to!
2) My baby boy turned 5 years old, graduated from Pre-K and is going to Kindergarten this fall! He has been at the same preschool for 3 yrs now where he knows everyone and now it is time to move on. I am nervous hoping he likes his new school and that he has fun and that the teachers and other kids will be nice to him. He is such a sweet boy- friendly and accepting of everyone- so I hope he is treated the same.
3)We took a family vacation down to Pointe West over 4th of July weekend. Pointe West is a resort community outside of Galveston and we rented a great condo there. It was right on the beach and had an infinity edge pool and bar/grill on site, among other things. Gage had a blast at the pool and in the ocean and even swam and held his breath underwater! It was fun spending time with my mom, step dad, little sis Alix and future brother-in-law Daniel. There was no oil in sight from the big BP spill in the gulf but there was a lot of trash in certain areas! The beach was still nice, but I couldn't believe how many people just left their beer bottles, water bottles, plastic bags and other trash. I mean, seriously! It takes maybe 10 seconds to pick that stuff up and throw it away?
